Thomas “Tommy” McDonnel Jr. has been promoted into firm partnership at Shumaker, the firm announced last week. His promotion was effective Jan. 1.
McDonnel is a corporate transactional attorney in Tampa representing clients in forming, operating, and ultimately selling their businesses. He often handles mergers and acquisitions and also handles private market securities issuances, commercial finance transactions, general corporate governance and business disputes.
He was part of a cohort of four Shumaker attorneys promoted this month, including two from Charlotte, North Carolina and one from Toledo, Ohio.
Shumaker Managing Partner Jennifer Compton said the attorneys have “contributed significantly” to the firm.
