Middle East strategist and former legislative affairs chief for UAE Embassy joins Shumaker Advisors

Shumaker Advisors has named Hagir Elawad as Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs, where  she’ll lead advocacy efforts, managing government affairs teams and driving public policy solutions.

“Hagir’s analyses and insights are second-to-none. She knows the people who are making the decisions in a tremendous range of fields,” Shumaker Advisors Ohio President Andrew Herf said.

Elawad has worked as a government relations strategist in Washington for over 15 years, handling a diverse portfolio of public affairs issues, from export controls and sanctions to human rights. She most recently served as a Senior Policy Advisor at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
