St. Petersburg is one of a handful of metros set to receive a boost in STEM opportunities from Boeing and NextFlex as part of a workforce development initiative.
Boeing has awarded advanced manufacturing institute NextFlex $1.1 million to expand their workforce development programs to underserved communities across several major metropolitan areas in the U.S. – including St. Pete.
The selected regions serve as critical manufacturing hubs for Boeing and will reach students from underserved and underrepresented communities.
The expansion of these programs is projected to reach an estimated 7,000 students over the next three years through NextFlex’s two flagship programs.
