A Tampa-based dinner cruise company is suing a Tarpon Springs boatyard after a yacht was damaged during an inspection.
The owners of Yacht Starship are seeking more than $90,000 from Florida Marine Ways & Boatworks.
In August, Yacht Starship brought the M/V Starship to the Tarpon boatyard for repairs and a Coast Guard inspection. After the boat was lifted from the water, the staff decided it was too big. But with a low tide, the ship struck ground. The company then had to take its ship to Alabama for a $38,000 repair and lost more than $50,00 revenue from being sidelined.
