Orlando man sued after buying up trailer parks around Florida, pushing tenants out

The owner of a Tampa trailer park is being sued after tenants say he tried saddling them with fees and threatening eviction.

Hillsborough Court records show multiple residents of the Tampa Sun Estates 2 trailer home park suing owner David Vickers. Tenants say the 33-year-old Orlando man bought the trailer park in early 2021. Vickers also bought up nearly 80 other trailer parks around the state of Florida, all named some variation of Sun Estates.

Tenants say Vickers began charging for water, something included in their leases, including late fees. When tenants didn’t pay, he threatened eviction over as little as $63.
