Babcock Ranch, a new residential community near Fort Myers, is the nation’s first solar-powered town. A 440-acre solar field generates power for homes and businesses. Along with the latest technology, Babcock Ranch lures homebuyers with its nature preserves, off-road trails, community gardens and canoeing.
The allure of nature as an amenity remains the biggest draw at Babcock Ranch. Harvard Jolly Architecture designed the 11-acre Town Center with sustainable materials that blend with the natural environment. It includes four restaurants, an education center, market, charging stations and even cardio machines that contribute power to the wellness center.
