Sadly, bullying doesn’t stop after middle and high school. It’s also a serious workplace issue.
Unfortunately, it’s difficult to ferret out in an interview whether someone has bullying tendencies. So it’s important to monitor for warning signs, and it’s possible to screen by measuring for such tendencies.
With this in mind, here are tips for preventing bullying in the workplace:
1. Examine your own behavior and those of others.
2. Openly discuss bullying behavior and the potential consequences with your team.
3. Provide a process and points of contact to report bullying, so team members can get help if needed.
