While men in the media and entertainment industries are capturing the headlines, it’s a good bet that prominent business leaders will be the next target for sexual harassment allegations.

What should companies do? First, assess whether your culture fosters respect for women at all levels of the company. If not, establish clear policies and make it known that such behavior is not tolerated.

Second, be ready to communicate effectively if a situation occurs. Have a crisis communications plan in place and be ready to make decisions quickly. Establish a commitment to transparency, which builds trust with employees, partners and customers.
