The artistry of ‘Star Wars’ in St. Petersburg

Star Wars costumes

Visitors from a galaxy far, far away have landed in Tampa Bay. Now through April 1, see over 60 original hand-crafted costumes from the “Star Wars” saga at the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg.

The collection includes costumes worn by characters like Queen Amidala, Princess Leia, Darth Vader and C-3PO.

St. Petersburg is the only city in the southeastern U.S. on the schedule for Star Wars and the Power of Costume, presented by the Smithsonian Institution and Lucasfilm. The timing is perfect, with “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” wowing old and new fans in area theaters.
