George Saunders Discusses Debut Novel

by

George Saunders, who Time calls “the best short-story writer in English,” will be at the Tampa Theatre Feb. 18 to discuss his first novel, “Lincoln in the Bardo.”

The book begins with the death of Abraham Lincoln’s son, but reality ends there as Saunders chronicles the battle for the boy’s soul in purgatory.

Saunders’ appearance is part of a conversation and signing organized by the Tampa Theatre and Oxford Exchange’s OE Spotlight series. Saunders will be joined by award-winning writers Thomas Pierce and David James Poissant. Tickets may be purchased online and include a copy of Saunders’ novel.
