Navigating the Keys, one Key lime pie at a time

The Florida Keys are known for many things – gorgeous water, laid-back atmosphere, Jimmy Buffett. But for this sweet tooth, it means Key lime pie. Daily sampling should be a goal when you visit this string of islands.

Some favorites from a recent trip:

– Islamorada Fish Company: This pie stop on the way to Key West included a crunchy twist in the form of a cashew crust.

– Blue Heaven: This funky outdoor restaurant serves pie piled high with meringue.

– Key West Key Lime Shoppe: For the non-traditionalist, this is served frozen on a stick dipped in decadent dark chocolate.
