St. Petersburg’s Left Bank Bistro, a 1920s bungalow restaurant at 1225 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St., conjures up feelings of 1920s Paris.

The neighborhood eatery, with its cozy bar, leopard-print sitting area, fireplace and wooden beams, is a place where Hemingway or Matisse would have been content.

Menu highlights include bouillabaisse, tarragon chicken salad and a garden vegetable tartine. Chicken liver pate and brie with apples are lovely appetizers. Craft cocktails are named for expatriates and European artists.

Light breakfast and coffee begin at 7 a.m., with lunch and then dinner until 10 p.m. most days.
