Endowments allow donors to provide a lasting legacy for nonprofits. The funds generate income and provide long-term financial stability for organizations.
The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay is helping nonprofits achieve financial stability through the Endowment Match Challenge, which provides a 1-to-3 match for endowments established at the Foundation. It manages, administers and invests the fund, then disburses funds twice a year.
More than 100 local organizations recently received a total of $1.4 million in endowment distributions. For example, Sun City Center Emergency Squad, an all-volunteer emergency medical service provider, received more than $16,000.
